Practical Prescribing for First On-Calls

Get to grips with prescriptions.

Are you a final-year medical student or newly-qualified F1? New to the UK and starting your career in the NHS? If so, then you will soon need to master the art of safe and professional prescription – and TMP Pro are here to help. Our half-day course is taken by all Oxford University Medical School graduates, used in a major London teaching hospital, and is the perfect foundation for a career-long practice.

We only work in small groups of less than twenty, and believe firmly in the importance of practical skills over pure theory.

In Safe Hands

Throughout your morning with TMP Pro, you will be working alongside Dr. Nina Karia, registrar in Cardiology, and Dr. Ryan Dhunnookchand, registrar in respiratory medicine. Both Nina and Ryan have developed and led our course over a number of years, and are now amongst the most trusted teachers in this field. Between 9am and 2pm, you will learn how to utilise the British National Formulary, and get the chance to write on real drug charts.

We will ensure you are equipped for your first on-call, your first time with drug charts, or your first experience referring to the BNF. If it all sounds a bit full-on, don’t worry – our course is tailored to you, and you are encouraged to make mistakes in a supportive and non-threatening environment. We’ll even throw in a coffee break!

Real-World Scenarios

Unlike most courses you can attend in person or online, our Practical Prescribing Course is taught entirely through real-life scenarios and techniques. You will be able to use resources to help you, and have personal guidance from senior doctors – but most importantly you will be getting practical experience in prescribing. We pride ourselves on helping doctors become more relaxed, more knowledgeable, and safer in the workplace – book your place now.
